摘    要：

Various aspects of the properties of transparent conducting oxides (TCOs) are reviewed in terms of how they impact the device performances of thin film solar cells. Of particular interest is light trapping effects due to different surface textures. Future directions are identified which may lead to further improvement in the TCO properties, as well as new concepts using plasmonics/metamaterial light trapping schemes as superior alternatives.
