Magnetoelectric (ME) materials, including bulk and thin film composites, have generated an increasing interest in the past few years because of the intriguing physical phenomena that are not observable in the parent phases and the wide array of potential applications in non-violated memories, sensors, dual electric-field and magnetic-field tunable microwave devices. In this report, the mechanism of  ME effect will be introduced from single phase to composite, then, experimental results in bulk and thin film ME composites will be given and some device conceptions will be illustrated throughout our results. Finally, future works in ME field will be proposed.
