报告内容:
Landau’s Fermi liquid theory is the foundation of modern condensed matter physics. Strong correlation mediated by critical bosons renders Landau’s quasiparticle picture broken down which amounts to a non-Fermi liquid (NFL) metal. Distinct types of NFLs can be classified according to the momentum carried by the critical boson. This leads to the ferromagnetic/anti-ferromagnetic quantum criticality and the NFL state in the associated quantum critical regime. In the first part of the talk, I will introduce a novel type of NFL induced by infinite many bosons that simultaneously become critical on a continuous manifold. This constitutes the scenario of infinity scatter infinity which is studied by complementary theoretical frameworks. The physical consequence for the infinite critical boson NFL is demonstrated in both three and two spatial dimensions. In the second part, I turn to the investigation of using ferromagnetic resonance (FMR) as a new probe for the strongly correlated phases of matter without quasiparticles. Properties of the NFL metallic phase can be read off from the modulations on the FMR. The characteristic frequency and temperature dependence of the FMR modulations is analytically derived for the Ising-nematic quantum criticality-induced NFL.
