报告内容:

Understanding quantum many-body systems requires going beyond ground-state properties and accessing their excitations, spectral functions, and dynamical responses, which provide important information about quasiparticles, fractionalization, and topological order. In this talk, I will present our recent efforts toward many-body spectroscopy on both classical and quantum computers. On quantum computers, I will introduce algorithms for extracting excitation spectra from parameterized quantum circuits and discuss their applications to strongly correlated and topological systems, including the Kitaev model and chiral spin liquids. On classical computers, I will discuss tensor-network approaches to elementary excitations, with recent applications to fractional Chern insulators. I will conclude with some perspectives on how tensor-network methods and quantum algorithms may complement each other in future studies of quantum many-body systems.

专家简介:

Prof. Chen received his B.Sc. degree from Lanzhou University in 2011 and his Ph.D. degree from Tsinghua University in 2017 under the supervision of Prof. Li You. He subsequently worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the Laboratoire de Physique Théorique, CNRS, Toulouse, and the Max Planck Institute of Quantum Optics in Munich, followed by a short-term position at Freie Universität Berlin. In 2021, he joined the School of Physics at Sun Yat-sen University as an associate professor, and in 2026 he joined Great Bay University. His research focuses on quantum many-body physics, with particular interests in tensor-network methods, quantum algorithms, and the study of excitations, dynamics, and strongly correlated quantum matter.
